Joyce Schaffer
Joyce is a CPA, GGMA, and a Certified Financial Planner licensed in North Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Currently she is also the CEO of Malvin, Riggins + Company, which she founded in 1986. She earned her accounting degree at The College of William and Mary (Go tribe!). Joyce has been Chairperson and held leadership positions in numerous community organizations over the years including the Rotary Club of Oyster Point, Hampton Roads Children’s Charities, Langley Civic Leaders Association, and the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. She is past president and charter member of the Tidewater Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Joyce enjoys spending time on the water and meeting new people everywhere she goes.

Debi Baum
Debi is a CPA licensed in North Carolina, Maryland, and Pennsylvania with more than 30 years of experience. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University with a degree in Economics, and has a Masters in Financial Accounting from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill. (Go Heels!) She raised four children in Dare County and divides her time between Kill Devil Hills and Ocracoke. When not doing taxes, she can be found boating with her two pups, fishing and clamming with her husband Jon, or running off to see her grandchildren.

Masha Zubach
Masha is a CPA licensed in North Carolina and the District of Columbia. She graduated from the National Aviation University of Ukraine with a Bachelors in Avionics and has Masters in Accounting from the NC State University Poole College of Management. (Go Wolfpack!) Originally from Ukraine, Masha came to the United States in 2011 and over the past ten years has built strong ties within the Outer Banks community. On days free from work, Masha enjoys spending time at the beach with her family or walking her dogs in Nags Head Woods.

Natalie Rondan
Natalie is a graduate of Longwood University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance and has over a decade of payroll experience. She moved to the Outer Banks 11 years ago and lives here with her husband, and two sons. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the beach with her family and dogs.
Senior Tax & Accounting Associate
Brie Mahler
Brie is an Enrolled Agent admitted to practice before the IRS. She graduated Cum Laude from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and Graphic Design, but soon switched paths into the tax and accounting world. She quickly obtained her EA credential, which is recognized in all 50 states. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants and foods with her husband and 3 children.

Taylor Janezic
Taylor recently joined the team at SBZ. When she is not working on payroll, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs!

Hunter Haskett
Hunter is a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Media. She is hoping to complete a Master of Accounting program within the next few years. Having grown up on the Outer Banks, she is excited to be back home and start a career on the beach. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and going to the beach.
